a single pangolin rests on the rim of this rectangular ceramic platter, 35cm long and 25cm wide, sculpted and hand-painted scale by scale. the pangolin takes far longer to build than anything else in the range - each overlapping scale is worked by hand - which is why only one sits on a piece. it's sized for the middle of the table: a roast, a cheese board, a long lunch that turns into the afternoon.

each platter is carefully handmade and hand-painted in south africa by a skilled, community-driven ceramic studio. every pangolin is individually sculpted and painted by hand, celebrating the most trafficked mammal on earth.

inspired by the quiet resilience of an animal most people will never see in the wild, each platter helps raise awareness for its survival. 5% of every sale is donated to the african pangolin working group, helping protect endangered wildlife and the habitats they call home.

because every piece is handmade, no two platters are ever identical. slight variations in the pangolin's scales, pose and expression are part of what makes each ceramic truly one of a kind. we do our best to photograph and describe each piece as accurately as possible, while celebrating the natural character that comes with handmade craftsmanship.
