pangolin mini raised bowl, rooibos

meet the pangolin mini raised bowl in rooibos, a deep red earth glaze mixed for one small studio run and not part of the standard range. standing approximately 14cm high with a 12cm diameter bowl, it is both functional and sculptural.

a note on these pieces. the glaze and the painting on this run came out with slight variations. a little pooling in one place, a thinner patch in another, a face or a scale that wandered off the usual line. none of it stops a piece being beautiful, and on some of them it is the very thing that makes it. they are simply not identical to the ones that go out at full price, which is why they cost less. every piece is photographed exactly as it is, so what you see is what arrives.

the rooibos glaze is decorative and delicate. these pieces are not intended for food or drink. they are made for jewellery, keys, rings, trinkets and small treasures, and for being looked at.

each pangolin is sculpted one scale at a time and hand-painted in south africa by a skilled, community-driven ceramic studio. it is slow work, which is why no two are ever identical.

the rooibos glaze was mixed for one run only and will not be repeated. there is one of each, so when it is gone it is gone.

care. hand wash only, in warm water with a mild soap. the rooibos glaze is delicate, so treat it gently. no abrasive sponges, no scouring powder, no harsh cleaners and no long soaking. not dishwasher, microwave or oven safe. dry with a soft cloth.
